General
The Rugby Club RFC Gouda counts about 150 members and is still growing. Our Senior and U15, U17 and U19 teams compete in the national competition. In The Netherlands, youth rugby teams consist of players of two-year classes (except for the youngest category: The "Turven" are 6, 7or 8 years old). Rugby laws
Rugby is played in accordance with the "Laws of the Game of the Rugby Union" of the International Rugby Board (IRB), and the "Rugby Continuum" of the Rugby Football Union (RFU).
There are special rules (in Dutch) that apply to the various youth classes. They can be obtained from the website of the Dutch rugby union, the "Nederlandse Rugby Bond" (NRB).
Training
Training hours of our U9, U11 and U13 teams are on Wednesdays from 18:45 until 20:15 hs. Additional (facultative) training of U11s and U13s on Mondays is focussed on improving general condition. The U15 and U17 players are trained twice a week: On Monday and Wednesday (19:00-21.00 hs). Finally, the Seniors and U19 train on Tuesday and Thursday (20.00 - 21.30 hs). The "Agenda" shows the fixtures for each category in the coming period. All teams play one or more games a week, on the average on three Saturdays (seniors and U19 on Sundays) a month. The rugby season starts in September and ends in May.
Other activities Special events including foreign trips are organised during the playing season. Our youth teams attended rugby tournaments in the UK, France, Germany and Belgium in previous years.

If you are interested in rugby at RFC Gouda please feel free to contact Niels Ansinger (president) or Marc van Gasselt (Youth President) or just fill in the admission form. For new members we offer a trial membership of six weeks for EURO 10, -.
